because why not. Chicago Metra fleet consists of: MP36PH-3C F40PH-3 Nippon Sharyo Coach/Cab Car Cab shots: F40PH-3 MP36PH-3C cab Nippon Coach Cab Rock Island Line
Because licensing, Metra didn't grant a license for TS20XX and I don't think DTG will make a route for TSW2 without official branding.... However, if we backdated the route to the Rock Island era, I would be all for that since licensing most likely won't be an issue to get
Or we could get a modern Rock Island route...The Rock Island - Chicago Rock Island & Pacific Railroad LLC (rockislandrail.com)
I love this route idea since I love Metra and I railfan them all the time. But the only incorrect thing is the f40ph-3 cab picture.
I knew there was something wrong with it. I've been inside a F40PH-3 cab many times before and i dont remember it looking like that. Do you have a picture I can use to replace that?
Those along with F40PH are made by Reskinning Caltrain into Metra Paint provided some point in the future Skyhook Games or DTG has the Metra License
It's not a simple reskin. There are quite a few differences between the F40ph-2CAT on Peninsula Corridor and the EMD F40PH-3. The most significant difference is that the Metra F40s do not have an HEP generator. This means that the loco is slightly shorter than the 2CAT. Because they don't have an HEP generator, the passenger coaches get their power from the prime mover itself. This means that the F40 has to be at 900RPM to supply electricity to the passenger coaches. 900RPM is basically the locomotive at full throttle, so the Metra F40's are significantly louder than the Caltrain F40s. The Metra F40s also have a Mars light, and a flashing beacon light on the roof. The horn is also placed above the cab while the 2CAT's horn is placed in the middle of the roof. The cab is also subtly different. The most significant difference is that Metra trains have in-cab signaling. The same thing can be said about the Gallery cab car. the windows are tinted green, the interior is different, the cab is very different, the horn is located on the roof, the headlights are placed higher up, and it has a mars light as well. It's basically equivalent to DTG doing the M7 and M3 on LIRR, and then making the M7A and M3A on Harlem. If I'm not mistaken, DTG made the M7A and M3A models from scratch but used the LIRR models for reference.
Find That Helpful and for Metra F40PH how are they different from Boston NEC MBTA versions which is on the opposite end of Interstate 90 & Amtrak Lake Shore Limited. To make a Metra F40PH I'm guessing base model is Caltrain or MBTA then get rid of HEP motor
