This is the last original interurban line in the US and runs from South Bend Indiana to Chicago Illinois. It uses gp38-2's for freight and passengers have either double decker emu's or regular emu's from Nippon Sharyo. It's electrified and runs through rural rolling hills and corn fields as it leaves the terminus at the Mishawaka Airport then it heads towards the shore of Lake Michigan through the famous sand dunes before reaching Michigan City where it has street running through the town and this is where the company workshops are located as well. Then the line heads through the industrial wastelands past steel mills and oil refineries before joining up with the Illinois Central (Metra Electric) line in Kensington and it then shares tracks with the Metra trains (their double decker emu's are basically the same as the south shore ones) through the run down southern Chicago suburbs before the line reaches downtown Chicago and heads past Millennium Park and terminates at Randolph Street Station. This line would be absolutely amazing with the amount of things to do while driving the line and the drastic changes in scenery would be exciting for many people. It's also a super famous route because it is still true to it's interurban past and is a great glimpse at what was once a very common mode of transit. Basically this route has everything you could want as a train driver and would really be a nice way to include another line in Chicago since that city is the railroad capital of the United States.
