Now I know people will say “Oh but the 168’s have been done by AP, why do we need another one!”
Whilst yes, most of the 168’s have been done, not all of them have been done. Plus the cabs have little differences between all 4 subclasses that AP didn’t include as far as I’m aware, as well as the Class 168/0 not yet existing for TS. All the class 168’s have the same top speed of 100mph.

    Class 168/0

The original Class 168’s, this subclass is formed of 5 4-car units. They were introduced in 1998-99.

    Class 168/1

This subclass is formed of 8, 4 and 3 car units. The first units of the subclass were introduced in late 2000/early 2001.

    Class 168/2

Originally introduced as an all 3 car subclass, over the years 168215, 216 and 217 have acquired a fourth carriage. This subclass had the same light clusters as on the Porterbrook Class 170/3’s, with the 168/1 being the same lights as the original 170’s and the 168/0’s being a unique front end. They were introduced throughout 2004, and operate the same services as the rest of the Class 168’s, and the 3 car sets can be seen coupled up to a 168/3 to boost capacity up to a 5 car set.

    Class 168/3 (Ex TPE 170’s)

The Class 168/3’s were originally Class 170’s, numbered 170301-309. These came into operation around 2015 as a capacity booster for an ever expanding Chiltern Railways network, with the line to Oxford being opened in the next year or 2. These units very rarely operate on their own due to being 2 cars, unless Chiltern are really desperate to get a unit to run a service due to a spate of failures on other units (which may be soon as at least 15 units are out of service across the entire Chiltern fleet).
