Now for a company which is not currently in the game. --Quick read at the bottom of this post.-- London Marylebone to Bicester North & Oxford -info- Chiltern run trains between London and Birmingham up the Chiltern Mainline. The name comes from the hills of which the company gets it's name from. Why Chiltern? Firstly, some of the scenery on this route is quite spectacular for the UK and if done correctly, would look incredible with all the improvements made over the last couple of games. Also, half if not most of the rolling stock Chiltern utilises are already in the game to a fashion. For example, Chiltern operate class 165/0's which can be re middles off the 166/2 from GWE. They also run class 168 units which is another from the Turbostar/clubman family that share the body shell as such with the recently added 170 on the fithe circle. Before anyone says anything about cross developers, skyhook have seemed to managed it with rivet over the modeling of the 158 into Scotrail. On their push pull services, they use MK3 coaches which have already been used twice on different routes from GWE to MML. Just the Class 68 and DVT would needed to be added, leaving very little in new units for someone to make. I specifically chose this part of the route as it has loads of variation between London commuter type services and intercity-ish services. It also fits with dovetails 1 hour and 10 - 20min route lengths. It has the circle shaped line that we see alot going from Marylebone to Aylesbury Vale PW then back to Marylebone and also from Marylebone to Oxford and Haddenhaam Vale PW. There are 2 Depots (that I'm aware of) on this section, Wembley LMD and Aylesbury TMD. What I personally would like to see? I wouldn't mind seeing the DVT and 68 put into the game and also a mixture of 2&3 car turbos (165's). I would also like to see a busy timetable, not with any services left out. This route isn't the busiest, with Marylebone only having 6 platforms so there would be little need to cut many services out. And if London commuter can handle it, I'm sure this could too As for layered traffic, freight traffic is not too prominent on this line but the RHTT could be utilised at some point as well as GWR traffic in and around Oxford. Rail tours. As seen recently with the hst rail tour going into Marylebone, different railtours could work going up and down this route. One thing to think, I was told that dovetail were struggling to get the rights to cross country who have the same parent company as Chiltern (Arrival) so there might be a strong possibility that this couldn't happen. Please feel free to add anything I have missed as I'm probbaly missing loads. --The Quick Read-- Route London Marylebone to Aylesbury Vale PW, Haddenham Vale PW & Oxford Depots, Wembley LMD and Aylesbury TMD Rolling stock Class 165 (remodeled) Class 168 (Remodeled) MK3 coaching stick (remodeled) Class 68 - New DVT - New Railtours locks and stock. Great suggestion. However, the Class 166 were not assigned sub class /2. They were simply numbered 1662** to differentiate them from Chiltern 165/0 and Thames Line 165/1 units. The primary difference when new was the fitting of Air Conditioning to the 166s. Otherwise they were all identical except... 165/0 - 2 and 3 car sets 75mph gearing. 165/1 - 2 and 3 car sets 90mph gearing. 166 - 3 car sets 90mph gearing.
