Is there any context to this?

Being very cynical, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a sideways attempt to try and get people to vote for York, as the OP really wants it and is trying to show that fact in nearly everything he posts........

Plus they forgot Gloucester, one of the oldest cities, so old, it's in the doomsday book.....

The inflationary amount of polls is getting rather silly imho.

And I've just grabbed a "Traffic and Mobility survey" from my letterbox.

It's cities that haven't appeared on TSW.

Hull but that's only because I know everything about the routes from it.

Also, this is just a poll of cities just like the other one. Would have been better if routes instead of cities were listed.

Especially going back to the 50/60s when there were two stations joined by a walkway. As a child visiting my aunt, l love to watch the shunting in the big park when playing on the swings etc.

I voted for a handful (including Belfast as I love it and Translink in general, and Cambridge for my modern EMU fix), but really the key one I thought would be a great addition would be Inverness - we already have the 170, with the SR 158 to follow relatively soon, and then some options for extra stock DLC could add truly diverse layers (especially if bi-mode Azumas do end up making an appearance), with longer distance trains being added, not to mention multi-part ECS and stock prep moves for a certain well known sleeper service (licensing aside of course - I know that'll be a total pain).

As divisive as WCL was in terms of quality, what I really love about Penzance is that you're looking at the very other end of the line, and you get a real sense of witnessing rail operations at the fringes of the country - watching these big trains rolling in having set off from London hours before, seemingly so out of place in these far-flung termini surrounded by much smaller stock running very different kinds of services. I'd definitely like to see more of that, and I think Inverness would be a great location to show it.

Probably a bit of area local bias but I voted for Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham
