Mode change, Matt mentioned this is what happens when the amps drop then come back up again, this happens when accelerating & it happens at 34mph, can anyone tell me what the loco is actually doing & what this mode change means? Thanks
Check this on page 33/34. It‘s an F2/F3 manual, but the underlying process should still be roughly the same. In essence, the way the traction motors are wired up is changed so that you can still apply a high voltage at high speeds (by reducing back EMF).
