I would like to suggest the first generation DMUs of classes 123, 124 and 128 which could find use on both DLoGW and NTP as they fit both 1971 and 1984 respectively. With the vast majority of first generation dmus using AEC, Leyland/Leyland Albion 6 cylinder engines, it should be quite simple to source sounds from similar preserved units. All 3 classes used the later 230bhp Leyland Albion 6 cylinder horizontal diesel powerplants. First we will look at the Class 123. Class 123 leaving Paddington Class 122 cab view Class 123 at Paddington Class 123 at Huddersfield
Class 124 images Class 124 at Stalybridge Class 124 at Manchester Victoria Class 124 cab view Class 123 and 124 units at Sheffield Buffet car interior of Class 124, very similar within Class 123 units
And finally some Class 128 images Class 128 at Paddington Class 128 at Manchester Victoria Class 128 cab view Class 128 interior
Excellent suggestions. The 123's could also layer into DLOGW as frequently used on semi fast Paddington to Oxford services. Also, though not a route we have in TSW (yet), they were used on Cardiff to Crewe via The Marches services often in multiple with a Class 120 Cross Country unit. Even if the sounds had to be aliased or synthesised, I'd take it.
Superb suggestion. Lots more 1960s-built multiple units in general but it's about time the Inter-city DMUs made it into a Train Simulator.
Very good suggestion, however if they are going to make a new unit for DLGW then surely a class 117 in rail blue would be the first choice as the class 101 is completely wrong for the pack?
Time to add them however the development team will have a problem with some of these trains because some of them were scrapped and have to find a suitable train need to get the accurate sounds and measurement.
