I am trying to do services with the new 142 pack but I keep encountering a problem when I try to move after stopping at stations. The first thing I notice is the train is unable to move as the brake cylinder gauge is still showing between 3 and 3.5 bar. I try checking everything is ok (DRA off, main switch forward brake handle release) yet the brakes still do not release. I get the guard to open and close the doors again, then make sure all indicator lights are out but the same thing is happening. However by this time the brake main reservoir pressure has dropped so I put the brake in to full service, reverser in neutral and turn on the compressor speedup switch to try and charge the main reservoir, however this does not work and the reservoir will not charge. I also notice the parking brake/wheel chocs are on in the coupling menu but it is not possible to interact with these, it seems these only indicate the parking brake is on due to the loss of air. This has just happened with a Leyland/SCG variant and I have had similar problems twice before, once with a Leyland/Voith as well as a mixed Leyland SCG and Leyland Voith set (LV/LS/LV). Has this happened with anyone else? I can't find anything in the manual about it and when I was near another train (with the 6 car mixed formation) switching to a set of 150 & 156s then back did not reset anything.
I also didn’t have anything like that. But check that you have the latest version. There have been a couple of fixes since launch.
I've driven a long scenario with multiple station stops using the Leyland / SCG variant and didn't experience a loss of air. I bought mine yesterday. The update log shows a new version released yesterday (30 Oct) which amongst a few issues includes "Loss of main res air after shutting down the engine on SCG variants fixed". Not quite what the OP reports but possibly related.
I haven't experienced this air issue with the new pack and I've run 4 out of the 6 scenarios using it. I did have a similar issue with the older pack several times where the brakes took upto 3 minutes to fully release after a station stop. This behaviour was dependent on how I braked on approach to the stop.
Your using the brakes to much when braking and loosing air. You can’t apply brakes on and off on and off it uses the main line air. To the right of your Speedo you will see a black rotary switch. Turn that on and it will run the compressor continuously to build up air. Also when the doors are open it applies full brake pressure wait for the doors to close fully before releasing the brakes.
If the model has been done correctly the Traction Interlock would stop the driver from releasing the Brakes with the Doors open.
