    Snowy Musings
I drove from Markinch to Edinburgh last night on Fife Circle. I set weather to Custom and had some light snow falling. Lovely.
So I set off with both wipers on, set to intermittent; just the right speed for the snowfall, and kept them on that setting for the duration.
Now, just pulling into Edinburgh Gateway, driver's wiper broke, stopped in the park position. Hmmm, methinks. Tried the old off/on routine, different speeds - nothing. In real life I'd probably take this unit out of service, but I'd rather finish the drive really.
Then, before I'd departed Ed Gateway, the other wiper failed! I ended up driving the last bit from the external camera, on the front of the train.
It got me thinking - is this a random failure mode like in real life, or just a bug. Strange that both should give up one after the other; if it's a bug then both might go together, or just one by itself....?

This is a random (hard to reproduce) issue, also seen on other locos. Hasn't been identified what exactly causes it to my knowledge.

Yep I've had similar issues with the 170, usually after I've saved it.

It happens on multiple locos. One method that may fix it is to go to the free camera and get far enough away from your train that it reloads when you go back to driver view and that restarts the wiper animation. I’ve had success with that method a few times when the wipers have stopped working.
