PlayStation Class 20 Sound Tsw 3

What the heck has happened to the sound of the Class 20 in TSW 3???

The engine sounds (idle and throttle on), which were some of the best sounds in the game, are now barely audible and pretty much drowned out by the track joint sounds.

 

Watching the video on my phone via YouTube, the sound is better than it is on my LG C2 TV.

 

Is that why the AWS alarm sounds incredibly loud in that loco?

 

The aws was always loud from what I remember when I played it in tsw2

 

I don't mind loud horns & alarms, but atleast the prime-mover noise should be louder than the track joints & raindrops.

The sound change is evident on TVL and WSR. I tried WSR to see if it was just a problem with TVL. The Class 20 definitely sounded better (with louder engine sounds) pre-TSW 3. Not sure why

 

I always found the engine to be too quiet in the cab, even on TSW 2. Even with all doors and windows open, the sound isn't that loud. Sadly on xbox, this suffers from the audio pop and crackle when inside the cab.

 

I was on Xbox last night started on the class 20 journey and thought myself this has suddenly got very quiet. I think going to TSW3 has definitely messed around with audio levels to some degree.

 

If I remember correctly, didn't the unreal engine upgrade do a similar thing to the audio? Back in tsw 2

 

Yes, the Sound of the DB BR 146 from Main-Spessart Bahn, for example, was completely broken.
