One thing I would love to see in train sim would is The British Rail Class 201 diesel-electric multiple units. would anyone else love to see them in the game? They could be used for rail tour services.1001, was preserved by Hastings Diesels Ltd., which is based at St Leonards-on-Sea. Vehicle no. 60000 has been named Hastings after the town which it previously worked to. So sounds and other things can be recorded from the real thing.
Loads of routes out there not involving the southeast... I know thumpers have a following, but come on, give the rest of the country a go
Assuming it comes with an an appropriate route set in the era in which these trains operated in normal passenger service, then yes. I’ve no interest in yet another railtour train.
This is one exception I would make as, set historically, only the short sections at Tonbridge and into Hastings from St Leonards would be third rail electrified.
I know people who like thumpers will make an exception. BUT there's still thousands of miles of track not involving London...
Oh I don't disagree but you could argue Tonbridge to Hastings is one of the more scenic south of England routes, not just stop/start Metroland.
Yes I would love to see this, would prefer it from Charing Cross but that wouldn't happen of course. You could add in a class 205 or 207 on the Marshlink line as well. For a even better experience the complete ECW to Brighton when still semaphore signalled and a class 423.
Yes it would, they should have modelled it in the first place as it ruins immersion giving up a service at Eastbourne!
Actually being a greedy gimme piggie I would throw in Tunbridge Wells to Eridge and a Class 207 also. Many happy hours spent bashing around all those lines in the early 80’s and I do recall a very nice real ale pub at Eridge, perfect for a Ploughman’s and couple of pints during a break of journey.
Oh yes! 33/1 pushing a 2 x 4TC formation up Bincombe Bank along with a recreation of the Weymouth Quay Line would definitely be a Day One-er for me...
There are a total of 7 SR classes of DEMU, all with the same/similar EE engines. They are as follows... Class 201 Hastings narrow 6 car with short frame. Class 202 Hastings narrow 6 car with long frame. Class 203 Hastings narrow 5 car with long frame. Class 204 Standard body 3 car with 2EPB driving trailers. Class 205 Hampshire 3 car. Class 206 Tadpole 3 car long frame Hastings with 2EPB driving trailers. Class 207 Oxted 3 car. There was also the prototype pair of Class 210 based upon Mk3 bodies with 210 001 being a 4 car Paxman/Brush set and 210 002 being a 3 car MTU/GEC set.
Pair this with a backdated 1066 line (I have a suggestion for it it check backdatedtrainsim) that would work for a thumper aswell as peps.
Bring it on and why not make it Hastings line 1986 where you have this 6S DEMU working alongside the 4CEP 4CIG 4VEP EMU. On East Coast way Brighton main line you unlock in 1980s timetable With Hastings line 6S 4'CEP 4-CIG 4-VEP stock.
