I would like to suggest the British Rail Class 210 DEMUs as dlc, possibly as a GWE option as that was their main stomping ground during their short careers between 1982 and 1987. They were only prototypes and came as a Paxman engined 4 car (210 001) and a MTU engined 3 car (210 002). 210 001 210 002
A few videos of use... 210 001 at Twyford 210 001 at Twyford MTU powerplant similar to that fitted to 210 002
This is a great DEMU definitely one I would like to see in the future, but as only two existed there would probably not be too much to drive with them.
Ahh, what I meant is as a class of train will leave a station every 20-30 minutes there are lots of services a day whereas with these trains we would have to wait for them to finish a route before there would be a new service for us to take control of. I hope that explained what I meant better
That is true. They would have to be inserted within class 117 services to be effective and true to life.
Most likely will never happen due to their uniqueness. Fun to dream though. Sadly I only got interested in/started travelling on trains in the early 1990's and missed this class by a few years. From the youtube videos, they sounded impressive. If only they weren't so prohibitively expensive to build, they may have negated the need for the Class 150 Sprinters to some degree. Such a shame that neither unit survived into preservation.
If they were to make the Class 210, they could also develop the Class 455 (sub class 7, 8 and 9) and 317/318 alongside as they were part of the same 1982 BREL family of multiple units.
