As most of you want to see 225, as well as me. It would be good to have a separate DLC for that. I would love to have the 225 But of course, i want that realism and I want the 225 as it would be such a good one. . I personally prefer the 801 as it is a cool train and it tends to be nice looking and very clean. The 225 would be good as it would a) add more services to ECML. But having the 225 can create the realism. I do hope that DTG do this project as it might be easy to do them as well. But having the 225 would benefit everyone as lots of people want to see the train in TSW.
I personally don’t think this would go down too well / sell well. Especially having an entire new DLC for practically the same train. In my opinion if DTG were to release a Class 800, it would almost certainly have to come with a route as a bundle, such as the Lincoln extension. It just wouldn’t be worth it otherwise
They already have the diesel sounds as shown by the old bug where the AI trains were passing on diesel. Theres no reason for this to be in anyway a seperate purchase. All they have to do is model the engines which we the customer wont see, exhaust pipe and stuff on the roof which the average customer wouldnt notice
I also think it wouldn't be to complex as they could change the numbering and engine which could be a good individual loco dlc. I also think that this might train might be useful for Lincoln services.
I think that maybe instead of 800, maybe a 225 as it would be entirely different, and it would perfectly fit into sounds as their are a lot less of the 225's on the network as 800's/801's have taken over.
If the ECML were to get any DLC I think most people would prefer a Class 91 and set of Mark IV coaches. Or something earlier like a Deltic or Paxman HST for a classic layer.
I was disappointed that they didnt set it when 801s were just being introduced... we could have had Virgin Azumas and HSTs running around
For anyone slightly baffled by the 800 references in this thread, OP originally advocated for a class 800 DLC then changed the content of the post to advocate for a class 91/IC225 instead - a change I can fully support!
If the changes between the 800’s are minimal (development wise) there’s a chance it may show up as a secondary train in a different route dlc, much better option than paying full price loco addon prices for a few minor differences, and better to get new stock rather than almost repeated ones.
I think the route has enough room in the era that it would allow Grand Central class 43’s at the very least (needs a different section but I don’t think it would ruin realism to much more than the date)
yea, if theirs any overt realism issues with it, it could just be put on a separate timetable with the realism interfering stock removed.
you mean the 91 right? I'm hoping the UK Loco add-on is the 91 but I bet it will be for FCL or the GOBLIN when they release
