Yes, we've just had the 380 added in game but it's a 2023 timetable with 314s which were removed in 2019. It's been said that the 314 is to cover for services ran by 320 and 318. So I thought I might aswell make a post about one of those. A pretty decent train, and one I've wanted in game for ages. The 320 would be a fantastic add-on to add realism to the cathcart experience. Built in 1990, the class 320 are 3 car AC EMUS used pretty much exclusively in Scotland by ScotRail. 320s are used in a decent amount on the cathcart circle and have been used in larger amounts since the class 314s withdrawal in 2019. If this was added to game I feel like it should replace the 314 mostly, if not completely in the 2023 timetable. Hopefully we could have working on-train PIS or ability to have announcements if possible to add to experience What do you guys think? Let me know if you agree!
Whilst I agree the 320 would be a great “finishing” touch for the new Cathcart timetable, I hope that we see a little break from Scottish content for the time being, and the focus turned back to uncovered areas of England or perhaps Wales instead
Yeah Wales is definitely needed most along with SWR/SWT depending on licensing. Also people say we have too many southern routes and not enough northern routes but personally I think it's the other way around we have lots of 80s northern routes so it's time for 80s south with slamdoor emus. Also an extension of ECW could be nice to Hastings/ore or even Ashford international with the 171 but that's probably unlikely unless they really want ECW to be 94 miles.
I agree on the period Southern Region stock, even something in the Network Southeast era. A revamped Class 33 set up for push-pull, some slam-door EMU stock, maybe a Class 73.
Very distinctive British unit, like 319. However, I would see it on a new, dedicated route. And then layering on GCC. Maybe Inverclyde. Furthermore, Inverclyde Line would also give the 380 and 385s the opportunity to "stretch their legs"! It would also be possible to create a 321 variant from it. Excellent suggestion!
Maybe backdated BML. yes ik it's a route we already have but currently in game it's done quite poorly. It would be fantastic set in 90s with connex slammers, 73s for GX and maybe even 319/455. Maybe the route up to London bridge aswell from E.Croydon
I would rather see a break being taken from Scotland & England & for the focus of DTG & some/all UK 3rd party devs to model routes of Wales & Ireland (both Northern & republic) to be made for TSW. Wales is begging for a route in TSW. At this point I don't care where in Wales it is as long as it is Wales. DTG has said that TSW can't cope with ECTS at the moment so the Cambrian Line is out of the picture
I would love to see more ScotRail stock, but also, we need some new routes too. I was hoping that Ayr or Inverclyde would be the home route for the 380, rather than a DLC addon. Definitely need to see something more midland or southern again, and certainly Wales!
DTG said they couldn't put etcs or request stops in game so that puts many major Welsh routes out of the picture. But a route I think would be likely or good in game is the south Wales valley lines
Doesn't mean they can't just do the route as pre ERTMS (RETB like in TSC West Highland Mainline) request stop wise. They could just have randomised timetables, where one service is sheduled to stop and one isn't or just giving a more leniant time between point A and D and allow the player to stop and B & C if they wish.
true but routes have a higher chance of being released when they are modelled in the present day. It also makes it easier to build the route, model the trains & gather sounds for the trains,
I'd back this. I loved Blackpool Branches, and with the recent updates to the Scotrail routes I;m going to pick up all 3 of them plus the 385 and 158. But the North and the Midlands to a lesser extent have gotten so much attention recently, I hope the upcoming UK route is something either in the South or in Wales, preferable Cardiff to Swansea or Bristol to Cardiff, although personally I'd rather see the former as Bristol to Cardiff would need to be a part of something else, such as a Cardiff to Swindon route because once you leave the Bristol area there is only Newport between the 2 cities. Hell they could even do a Bristol to Swansea route. And better yet no matter when they set the route they already have a decent amount of the rolling stock already in the game in the form of the 166, 158, 387 and 800 with the HST for GWR so whether they do it pre or post electrification it there is less work for them to do. Now sure I'm biased here since I studied in Swansea for 3 years and so the area is familiar. But objectively it's a great balance between rural commuterish (between Bridgend and Swansea), high speed (between Cardiff and Bristol Parkway) and freight (mostly too and from the Port Talbot Steelworks and Margam freight yard but some would continue on to Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire
In regards to request stops, I think a valid work around for the timetable would be to schedule the train to stop at all of those stops? Okay - Perhaps that wouldn’t be entirely realistic, but I would assume the timetables have enough padding build into them in advance as boarding / alighting for request stops can not be predicted.
I would like to see Brisol Temple Meads come to TSW but if they do add a Welsh Line, I hope it is Crewe/Chester to Holyhead with maybe the Llandudno Branch aswell.
I'd be all for the 320 from a Scottish perspective. But also see the potential for other areas too. Any developer who was savvy enough could use the base model to also develop the 4-car 321s and 322s, offering up the possibility to be used on many more routes.
