the class 33/1 (bagpipes i think is the nick name) would be a nice edition to the west somerset railway rout. to go with the 33/1 thay did use 4-tc units to go onto the old weymouth tramway and one unit still seeing mainline use with london underground but being hierd out to heritage railways. it would be like driving the 33/0 from the 33/1 cab but could run a similer service to the class 101 on the west somerset railway and could form some intresting runs on some routes

we already got A Class 33 on wsr as it is, a 33/1 with 4TC would work better on an Older Southern region route like a weymouth tramway route

Excellent idea and how about set this in 1987 one year before the southwestern Mainline electrification reached Weymouth from Southampton area in 1988. If you're into Third Rail electric routes 1987 also marked Hicksville Ronkonkoma completion which was December 28th

I’d love to see a Class 33/1 (and 33/2) but I don’t think WSR is the right route for it, we need give it some thrash out on the mainline with a 4TC or load 16 on a tour!

We also need to get the 33 from the WSR added into layers for railtours. I did think the London Commuter would have been perfect for a return trip Victoria to Brighton and empty to and from Stewart’s Lane

i can see what you mean about the wsr, my reasoning for that is becose its the only heritage railway we currently have in game . it would probibly work on a bornmouth to waymouth tramway route with the line to weymouth quea station beeing non eletrified.

It would certainly work but it’s only 25mph, you spend half the time on the brakes rather than hearing that fantastic Sulzer engine at full bore!

Like the idea but agree needs a mainline route, Bournemouth to Weymouth/Quay perhaps.

Southwestern main line pre 1988 electrification. Because 1987 was Hicksville Ronkonkoma MacArthur Airport electrification in 3rd rail routes.

I think DTG tend to stay clear of UK heritage so to speak because of lack of knowledge maybe with other countries. And the fact the main customer base seems to want current traction. When DTG have done historical stuff so to speak they get it half correct and maybe need to consult more sources to get a more accurate picture. While Rivet Games get maligned at least they give it ago. All DTG and any third party needs to do is speak to people from the era but not get into the rose tinted specs brigade. Look at the facts not patter!
