I just need to go and buy a Pack from AP that I don't need and a train from ATS that I don't need either. In the old days somebody might have released a fix for the DSD and reskins.
Anyone know which drive these assets are stored in? It is downloaded from ATS with an installer so difficult to know which folder the assets were put.
There always has to be the one to complain. Either do what the rest of us have done and buy the requirements and enjoy this update or just leave the rest of us to enjoy a freebie. As for requirements:- ATS Class 185 - I have had untold pleasure with the ATS 185 (possibly one of the finest pieces of advanced scripted DLC to hit TSC in the last 10 years) you are seriously missing a gem if you don't include this in your library, especially for Manchester based scenarios. I would personally not entertain using the default 350 without the enhancement pack. Each to their own as they say.
We are no longer in the old days. TSC is no longer fully supported. We should be grateful for everything that is provided by the kind hearts of 3rd party developers. One always has the choice not to participate. Respect for those who freely give and provide a path forward.
I don't agree. A 'free' enhancement that requires over £40 of DLC - not counting the base DLC that's it improving - is going to be of no use to many players (including me). It would be helpful if content creators were to make their add-ons usable for as many as possible. Of course, content creators are at liberty to use their time as they like, but they won't be thanked or appreciated by people that can't use their creations. And free isn't a synonym for good.
I did not say there was anything wrong with the pack. Very good of the developer(s) to make a fix for the DVD which people have complained about since the 360 was released - even AP have not made a pack to address that. I just noted in the old days a patch would have been released for the DVD and repaints separately, Regarding the 185 and the 350 I have a few different 350 units on WCML TV and WCML South and I have driven some of them. The AP Class 350/444/450 Sound pack works quite well for me The 185 would only be used on Man Vic - Leeds so not much use to me as I prefer a Class 37 or a Class 40 over the line. I would have to spend £14.99 on the AP 350 EP pack and £26.99 on the ATS 185 pack - £41.98 that I cannot afford. And apart from the DTG Bed-Pan route I would not have anywhere to run the EMR versions of the 360 For those who have already purchased the required add-ons then enjoy your freebie. Strange that I can download a Czech route with locos & stock for Free - as in no pre requirements In the UK we seem to have go to the stage the everything must be Payware or Freeware that requires Payware
I guess we are wedded with AP (and some ATS) products in the UK 3rd party network. If you like UK routes/scenarios then I guess in the future there will be a base set of assets needed. Like the Netherlands everything is free provided you have bought the trains.
I must just be different then in thinking that anyone who decides to donate their time free of charge doesn't deserve any criticism. Just move on if you have nothing nice to say. I must just be more polite...
Well, considering that I'd need to buy an obscene quantity of DLC to get anything out of it besides quick drives I don't feel I'm missing out...
Anyone tried it without the ATS 185? I saw the start of an ATS stream about it and it was mentioned that it uses some sounds from the 185 and AP Class 350 EP. It may be possible, if you know how, to substitute sounds from elsewhere. It may of course use other elements of the 185, I didn't watch the entire stream - the presenter irritates me.

Typically, things released for free at ATS require some form of ATS payware, including almost every route in their free downloadable routes archive (maybe with a couple of exceptions). I personally do not like this myself. But as stated, people are free to use whatever they feel obliged to use. I personally have never picked up the 185 because it's not available on Steam (where regional pricing exists) and deals are rare at ATS. Currency conversion is absolute trash right now to make a full price purchase viable. They need to have more sales. I do have the AP enhancement pack, but like others, I am out ATM because of the 185.
I just thought I'd make a response here, so is it the case that people are not currently able to take advantage of scripting improvements as the pack is locked behind an installer which if you dont own ATS payware requirements, it won't install? I did the scripting and never agreed for it to be used in this way, if this is the case I will release my code as open source for people to also fine tune to their needs if they know how to
Apparently it shows that it requires the ATS 185 to be present. I already have this and is a good item. Not sure why Cyclone is belly aching. It either requires 185 or not. Can you please clarify if the 360 derivation requires the 185? Respectfully
Excuse me? All I said is I have never picked it up so I can't use this pack, and that ATS needs to have more sales. It is what it is. Never said the loco is trash. Heck, the bumble bee livery would be a fun one to use.
That is an issue though, I own the rights to my code which was used and developed by me in the class 360 EP. It is a product that is meant to be free. As long as it can still be used with some requirements missing then that is fine. If you are locked out of using it because you need to spend money on another ATS product then that is not what I gave permission for is my point. I doubt this is the case but that is why I am trying to get clarification. It shouldnt be an installer either should just be a zip file

Even with most free items, you have to have some requirement to use it. My guess is that sounds from the 185 pack are used in the enhancement. This is a reasonable type of requirement. Same with the AP 350 pack. Though I would think the 350 pack is more of a need than the 185. I am mystified that the 185 is required. Does anyone know what it's needed for?
I recently installed this 360 EP pack from ATS - I already own the older Class 360/444/450 Sound pack. As the installer started it recognised that I did not have either the 450 EP Pack or the ATS 185 but still ran. I now have all the repaints included and everything works including the DSD Isolation. Some sounds are not working as it points to a pack that is not there. The file names are similar so I'm changing a few lines in the bin files to point at the older sound pack.

AFAIK that version still has the DSD which you cannot isolate and requires a sound pack that was discontinued
