Hi, sorry if this is not posted in the correct place. Anyone know how I can enable AWS and DSD in these locos? I see the AWS changover switch, but I cant find how to enable AWS and DSD itself.

    Best regards

Should be on the back wall at the top near the ceiling.

There are 2 switches you have to turn on. Basically on each side

Switch to enable AWS is near AWS changeover switch. It is hard to see it from driver's seat, so you may need to get up and walk over to it.
And DSD is on the back wall in the second cab (on Class 37 and 31, no idea about 40)

AWS was, I think, a retrofit on these early diesel locos. As such, the mounting location varies per type. Most have a switch unit on the back wall of each cab, but some have it beside or even under the driver's seat. In the Class 101, the switch unit is under the secondman's seat.

There are two levers on the switch unit. One is the "isolation" lever, which in normal service would remain in the active position (ie. not isolated) at all times. The other is the change-end switch, which should be activated in the cab being driven from, and deactivated in any cab not being driven from.

In modern AWS installations, the change-end switch is incorporated into the reversing switch and does not need to be operated separately.
