Today I am suggesting the CrossCountry Class 43 livery and the Class 220/221 Voyager for the Birmingham Cross-City Line. It could run the services that go from Bromsgrove to New Street. or the opposite way. Example Services that the player runs: Bristol Temple Meads - Edinburgh Leeds - Plymouth Manchester Piccadilly - Bristol Temple Meads Plymouth to Aberdeen etc. These example services would be shared by the 43 and the Voyagers. Completely up to DTG in the services perspectives. I just looked up "RealtimeTrains Bromsgrove" and set it to CrossCountry only. Completely unrelated to the suggestion but I love the hidden Cadbury collectibles. I know it's probably like it IRL but I love that the colours match Cadburys at Bournville. Great touch and I think dtg perfected it.
I see. Maybe there is potential they get the license back. Can imagine lots of people reskinning the Voyager to look like the former Virgin livery which would be so cool.
Cross Country would be more better for a route that they can operate from A - B such as Leeds - Newcastle or Coventry - Wolverhampton, they don't even stop at Bromsgrove now. But they can be layered on as AI only between there and New Street. Maybe some diverts to Lichfield too?
i think crosscountry would be best on its own route, and layer onto BCC, rather than be the DLC, as it would mostly be AI services. Though that being said, if they did a 170 as DLC, they could have a 170 service simulating a Nottingham - Cardiff service
As mentioned, the XC services don't stop at Bromsgrove (although the Bristol train is apparently going to be stopping there from next year), so the only section you'd be able to drive currently is University to New Street, which would take about 10 mins. It'd be up to the AI to do the rest of the traffic. If they did a 170 DLC with an extension to Worcester, then you'd have a bit more already in place for if they ever did a proper XC route from New Street to Bristol (although people would doubtless be up in arms having to pay again for the New Street to Bromsgrove section)!
Make an XC route like the freeware one, Birmingham- Cardiff plus branch line to I belive cheltham Spa then layer things onto BCC and it would work perfectly and be better for value and marketing at the end of day.
