Why is it we become ‘height challenged’ when we drive some locos - the 101 is particularly guilty of this.

Besides from the fact that there is no bogie run, brake rub or wind sounds at all on this loco ( which I am hoping will be fixed when the preservation team do the upgrade. If you look at the eye line of the cab view in TSW2 it is very low down. Where as if you look at the drivers eye and head height in the video you’ll see how much higher up it is in real life. It doesn’t feel right at all.

The 47 needs an upgrade yes, but i think its more the sounds of the green wsr version, which is so bad that i refuse to drive the northern star, even if i would like to.

Both class 47 needs a working vacuum release valve like the others (its even located in the cab, just not functional)

My idea is that adams team port over the sound of the blue version to the green one.

The camera position in your pic looks on the position of the drivers neck, so it looks lower than ingame. I personally can live with its current setting.

Same for the tea tankers, for some reason the numbering is broken in tsw2. At least in my version on pc. On a tsw2020 pic i could idenify them as the bp shell tankers 87100 to 87263, but i can only read 123456789 on tsw2s ntp.

Both should be adressed for the ntp preservation update.

They could use the brake rub sounds from the 45, which always give my spine a bit of a tingle.

In fact the 45 sounds are far superior to both of the 47 versions, IMHO.

i believe the whole GWR Route, needs to be upgraded, especially the train itself and the station. When i drive the class 101 GWR, it doesn't feel right at all, the in-side cab camera control is still not up to date like other new TSW 2 routes currently is. Also, the sound is awful and doesn't sound realistic to the real world. Hopefully, Adam's Team knows what needs to be worked on for this route, and makes a huge improvement to the whole route and train bringing it to the TSW 2 Route Standard.

Shame it wasn't in the right livery as well for the time period or you could argue the right class. But I agree it is totally frustrating at having to wait for the fixes and upgrades and hope they come somewhere near what us GWE sufferers expect.

For me I can remember standing next to a 47 and it made you vibrate inside, the noise of thing is just not represented anywhere near to true life imo but tbh it isn't just the 47. I honestly think that if DTG could get the sounds somewhere near to true life people would love the game more.

I LOVE the class 45 sounds and driving characteristics, Really hope they copy over the Class 45 run and brake rub sounds over to the 47 at some point. They sound a treat.
Cab driving position raised a bit,
Port the new class 47 BR Blue sounds over to the WSR Green 47 and we then have something that’s half way to decent.

I know this is about the 47 but at the risk of veering slightly OT, glad I’m not the only one who thinks the 101 sounds nothing like a Met Cam DMU. It sounds like they sampled it from a re-engined set in preservation then proceeded to make a hash of the mix. For the era depicted, the 101’s still had that lovely whining AEC engine that was quite distinctive, even to other types of unit fitted with the same engine.

Agreed. Never use the 101 and the sounds being one of the main reasons. ( also driver view height is way too low )
Such a shame that this isn’t updated.

I still think SimuGraph is broken on the Green 47 on WSR. It performs very differently (worse) than the blue one and I can’t think of any other reason why. Adam says it’s fine though :o

The drivers eye viewpoint on the 166 on GWE still so low that it's near impossible to drive in the rain, you actually look under the area the windscreen wiper clears. The Class 31 DLC is the best I think, you get two viewpoints with differing heights, I think it might be this or the Class 20 where the seat height adjuster actually works also.

Perhaps sometime in the distant future we will find out what these updates are to the preserved routes and maybe they will surprise us?

Totally agree with the 166 and your praise of the Class 31. That loco drive height is brilliant.

Why not just allow every loco driver seat to be height adjustable like it is is the Class 31 so those who like it really high can do so, or the ones who like driving low down can also be pleased.
