Class 47 Question

A really sily question, but something I've always wondered....... is there a specific reason why the high intensity headlight in the class 47 is off centre?

 

Tried looking it up but found no results. I don't think we'll ever get an answer.

 

I think it’s so it’s closer to the drivers side for reflection of the speed boards etc.

 

That would make sense.

 

I honestly can't remember which side they are off set to but I believe it is the drivers side and that will be so that they light up the cess (like the mentioned signage) and don't dazzle oncoming drivers at night whilst still being visible to anyone on the track ahead.
