    Good Morning,

I'm trying to get 2x 47's to haul a freight in tandem, but only the front loco is working, the second loco just idols all the time, has anyone got a fix for this?

Well none of the class 47s depicted in TSW actually are fitted with "Multiple Working" (MU) equipment so it's not a bug, works as intended. In real life for double heading with no MU gear, two drivers are needed, one in each loco. For this the lead driver would have control over throttle and brakes where as the driver in the trailing loco would only adjust throttle in response to the leading driver's actions/signals.
In TSW you can sort of simulate this by leaving a cab window open in a trailing loco then some locos will let you move the throttle levers from outside with an external camera.

As for the class 40 which actually does have blue star multiple working equipment. Are both locos coupled directly to each other or is there other vehicles between them? If the latter is true then again you won't have MU because the other vehicles do not have blue star MU cables/hoses to pass the signal down from lead loco to trailing loco.
