Hello everyone, I would like to suggest Class 484 and the Class 230 for Train Simulator Classic and here's why: They are electric multiple units built by the (now defunct) rolling stock manufacturer Vivarail which operate on the Island Line on the Isle of Wight. They're based on the British Rail Class 230 diesel multiple unit, (which themselves are part of the Vivarail D-Train family,) that were converted from old London Underground D78 Stock originally manufactured in the late 1970s and early 1980s by Metro-Cammell for the District Line. The Class 484 units are two-car trains that were built using the existing bodyshells and bogies of former London Underground D78 stock units that were being modified for use on the National Rail network. They have similar features to the Class 230 trains (well they are from the same family after all), and are featured irl with Wi-Fi, power sockets and CCTV. The D78 Stock is similar in terms of height to other National Rail rolling stock in Great Britain and taller than the previous Class 483 as shown in the below set of images. There are two motor cars per unit. The British Rail Class 230 (D-Train) is a diesel electric multiple unit (or battery EMU) and were built by the same rolling stock manufacturer Vivarail for the British rail network. The units are (like the Class 484's) converted from old London Underground D78 Stock, that were originally manufactured in 1980 by Metro-Cammell, and these have been assigned the designation of Class 230 under TOPS. When adapted to its City configuration, a single D-Train would operate as either two or three cars per unit. The two-car vehicle is configured to accommodate 86 seats per unit and, including standing room, and provides for a total passenger capacity of 188. The three-car vehicle, is configured with 140 longitudinal seats, and has a total passenger capacity of 294, including those standing. For the Country layout, each D-train unit is to a three-car formation, which accommodates 163 seats along with a total capacity of 291. In its Commuter variant, the D-Train features either two or three cars per unit. The two-car vehicle accommodates 114 mixed-type seats for a total carrying capacity of 188 passengers. The three-car vehicle, is furnished with 172 longitudinal seats, accommodating up to 297 passengers, while the three-car vehicle with 154 transverse seats accommodates 147 standing passengers additionally. Of the Class 230, only TFW operates them at the time of writing. With Vivarail now defunct, GWR now owns Vivarail's assets. A former operator was the London Northwestern Railway withdraw its sets until further notice as a result of Vivarail entering into administration. These sets had only two doors on each side compared to TFW's which have a restyled front end and TFW's sets retain the previous door spacing, except for the removal of one door on each side of one of the driving cars for the fitting of a universal accessible toilet, and replaced by a blank panel on the toilet side and a window on the other. Ironically, the LNWR's Class 230s will be replaced by Class 150 units on the LNWR. What do you think? Would you like to see these in TSC? And as promised some photos: (Taken from Wikipedia as I don't have any of my own) The Test train, LNWR's Class 230, TFW's Class 230 and a Class 484 next to a Class 483. Thank you for taking the time to read this...I hope it was worth the typing.
I believe 483's are already in the game, however I think the class 230 would be a great addition. There's a freeware route for the Marston Vale line (Bedford - Bletchley) being added soon too. So this train could be used for that route as well. It would be great to see
