I think that these machines should be added to Great Western Express as they were once to be seen plying their trade between Paddington and Reading daily. Maybe on ECW too as they have visited Brighton before.
DTG tend to be very specific on their time periods, and it's likely that very few 52s were on GWE in 2015 when the route is set, much as we'd like to thrash a hydraulic at high speed
I am sure if they do their research, these were on various railtours along this stretch of line around that period as i have seen photos that suggest so.
You don't say when It's all well and good saying they HAVE run there, but unless it's within the timeframe the route is set in DTG won't put it there
This photo is under the wires so it was fairly recent and i would guess, from what can be seen that it was between 2010 and 2015. Brighton however, was much longer ago but they have included a lot of other add ons to ECW.
Railtours were run with 52s in the timeframe. Also plausible for the 33 and 47 perhaps. I dont think ecw will be the last modern route to get a Railtour.
Interesting picture. I think Classes 52, 50, 45, 55 and a pair of 20s. Possibly 2018 - there was a similar convoy visited WSR then. Although it's not a rail tour. I think they are just relocating the 6 locos that have been to various diesel galas. It'd make a great continuation scenario from WSR to GWE though! And the Brighton shot it's 1972. "Having worked into Brighton D1037 'Western Empress' failed and spent the next 3 days at the terminus before being towed back to home metals 7/72."
