    Hi Folks,

Upon recent news of Accurascale and Cavalex Models making their Class 60 in OO Gauge that is due in 2025. I would like to capitalise on this golden opportunity to propose an all-new Class 60 pack that would made in to two packs to give the customer options.

Pack 1 could be the BR/Shadow Privatisation liveries for 1991-1997ish
    BR Sectors
    Loadhaul/Triple Grey
    Mainline/Triple Grey
    Transrail Branded Triple Grey

Pack 2 could be the EWS/DB Schenker/DB Cargo.
    EWS/EW&S Maroon/Golden Yellow
EWS Patched liveries for Mainline Blue/Triple Grey/Loadhaul/Transrail
    DB Schenker
    DB Cargo
I have not included the special liveries like those on 60062 "Sonia" and 60074 "Luke" as the Puma branding would need to be licensed and the same thing would be the case with the Army 60040 and the Teenage Cancer Trust that 60074 has during 2008-2013 for the same reasons.

Here is my photo of 60084 at Barnetby in 2008 that I took on my first digital camera back then.

The next question is what about the routes?
Pack 1 could use the following
    Blackpool Branches (Burn Naze)
    Cornish Coast
    Tees Valley Line
    Northern Trans Pennine Line

    Pack 2
    Midland Mainline
    ECML
    Great Western Express
Kent High Speed (Non High Speed sections)
    London to Brighton

From my understanding, DTG has a very nice model of a Class 60 they could use as the base for this add-on that they had in Train Simulator Classic that could be built upon to make it more functional and flip the model so that cab 1 is correct and if they need Class 60 sounds. Maybe DB Cargo or DC Rail can help with this and maybe collaborate with The Class 60 Preservation Group that might be able to assist when they get their first Class 60 locomotive.

I always welcome positive and constructive feedback on this suggestion.

We neeeeed more UK locomotives. We have enough dmus/emus & routes.
I believe the last UK Diesel Loco DLC was the Class 20 if I’m not mistaken

We need more. Modern uk traction. Like, the class 66 isn’t everything.

With loco DLCs now being route independent and free roam being available I think DTG and other third parties should release more loco packs like this that spans different eras and liveries. As you mentioned there are a lot of routes the loco could operate in so it would hopefully broaden the appeal of this DLC. Getting both the pre and post privatization versions would be great for gameplay at least.

The Class 60 would also be a much needed freight loco to substitute the Class 66 with. Getting another UK Freight loco would make me consider getting the Cargo Lines DLC and play modern UK freight again as I am just too tired of driving the 66, which doesn't even operate the same way depending on which version you select. Additionally, if someone did both of these packs I hope they would bundle them together with a small discount for getting both.

The Class 60 seems the obvious choice for a new and different freight locomotive and I truly hope that we have it soon. However, adding it to Blackpool branches and NTP are not feasible as they were set in 1986 and 1984 which predate the 1989/90 launch of this class.

Good shout but as noted would probably need it’s own route as other than TVL none of the other UK routes are really the correct era. MML at a pinch or GWE but what’s needed is something like West or South Wales where they thundered up and down on oil trains to and from the Milford Haven area refineries, or steel traffic around Port Talbot, Llanwern, Ebbw Vale (that would be nice!) and up the Marches Line.

I believe they could still be seen from time to time on GWE in 2015 and most definitely during the 1990s.

I believe for a while some were allocated to the Mendip Rail pool and worked stone trains out of Merehead and Whatley Quarries. They also worked side by side with 56’s on the Yorkshire coalfield, based out of Knottingley. Seems only the most distant hope that DTG would entertain either of those two areas of operation as a potential DLC.

Shame as both would benefit from the Class 60.

Another option is that DTG could include a Class 60 with a new route. Something like South Wales Coastal, I think they even operated on North Wales for a while back in the days of BR as I did read a post on the Class 60 group about two Class 60's were driven by an overzealous driver that were connected by an MU cable and got them up to 84mph I think it was and it damaged the traction motors and voided the warranty for BR. The post is on the Facebook group.
