It wasn't meant to replace the 59, they were built to replace the older class 20,31,37,47,56 and 58 as EWS wanted a uniform fleet of Locomotives. The 59 was used as the basic design of the 66. My dad worked on BR from 1975 until 2000, was based at Leicester depot. As a Railwayman he liked them as an enthusiast he hated them as they replaced a lot of locos. Personally I've always liked them. Although this must be mentioned, small black text on a black background is difficult to read
Yes the 66 is a great addition but we need 56, 60 updated 47 as well as MXA, JNA "Falcon" and more type wagons for TSW3 Hentis
No good for anyone who already has all UK content Shame we couldn't have had a new wagon or additional play for MML or similar (loads of industries on the line but none used in game)
I agree. If DTG are going to celebrate a milestone for a loco, they need to offer something meaningful, like a scenario pack covering the routes that the loco populates. I would have snapped that up. Just discounting a bunch of older routes that many if not most players already own doesn't cut it. It's pretty stingy.
I'm right there with you mate while it is true that the Class 66 is the workhorse of the UK freight network there are other UK freight locomotives out there
would of been better to of done a special livery for it and added some sort of new scenario for the 25th anniversary proves once again that dovetail has done nothing this last month but sit in the sun
Yup. This doesn't really bother me tooo much, but the odds of an existing TSW3 player NOT having the Class 66 in their collection is very small lol.
Class 66 my ar... Sorry I'll start again. The class 66s are great for the companies and possibly the people that work them, but always working for a TOC rather than FOC means I never have dealt with them professionally, so I detest them and the nickmames I have for them can't be written down on this forum. I don't see what's so special about them that they deserve a DTL article about their anniversary.
I think a class 313 fairwell stream or official 313201 BR blue livery and maybe a fairwell scenario pack may have been a better event to celebrate than the class 66 personally. Could have added some small ROG37 moves with the 313 as well A lot of the dtg content creators did it. Would've been nice to see the 313s acknowledged a little more.
I do not get the fuss around 66s they are ugly, they are very quiet, and they are just dreadful engines everyone who I know that drove 66s say they are as horrible to drive as they are to look at. I always had something against them as they replaced engines I much preferred and also it is very annoying if you dislike them as they work everywhere.
Need more wagon types for the Class 66 to run with and make a PZB Belgian Memor II Dutch ATB version the DB BR266
I think that it would be right to release an additional package of services and repaints for this event. Something similar to Rivet's RhB Anniversary Collection. This would be an interesting event. A new route package with BR 66 is inappropriate.
You would've thought that with Matt's pink passion and supposedly DTG's good cooperation with ONE, this would've been a great opportunity to bring in the pink ONE C66, similar to the TSWs ACS64. Well, maybe next time...

What do you mean? In UK there is only Class 66 in EWS livery. All other loco's is fiction and they doesn't exist.

Why not? Because people who do one type of development don't necessarily do other types of development And White Knight means something different to what you're trying to use here
