What is with this, I use a class 66, no problem, then move onto another timetable slot and the brakes don't work? Can't get them to release? I push release full and the outside needle goes around to the inner needle and thats it, none of them will get as far as the 5?
I see a third rail, is this a double headed service on SEHS or BML by any chance? The BML ones in particular I know can be particularly buggy, it's been a while but from what I recall you have to go to the second locomotive, use the overhead panel to cut in and release the brakes, then cut them out again. Vice versa for the head locomotive, cut out the brakes and cut them back in again. If I had to guess it's something do to with Simugraph not activating properly until you sit in the driver's seat, which is the actual trigger for Simugraph to activate. An easy way to prove this is to sit in a passenger seat or even the guard seat of a train with suspension physics - the train won't sway around at all until you sit at the controls.
This is a single head 66 on the SEHS, I hsve tried resetting the train, picking a different 66, but no. Buggy is the word.
Ah next one I got double headed and it just brakes for no good reason. I jammed in the key and reduced the brakes right away and managed to get it moving. 0.8 degree downhill at full throttle towing 2 x containers and I got up 30mph..sigh!!
Got this service, for some reason spawns with the brakes cut out on the EM2000. I cut them in again and it worked fine.
Since the game freely substitutes different 66 versions, I always check the goggle box immediately to make sure the brakes are cut in.
For some reason, that service starts with the brakes cut out. Its a weird anomaly because all the others don't.
The EM2000 computer interface: Select Brake Cut-Out from the menu, then make sure Cut In is selected. (also check to see that the Passenger/Goods choice is correct for your consist, although you can also tell that from the lights on the left of the dashboard)
