    Hello,

Yesterday when I was driving the first southbound Class 66 hauled service on GWR Express, the train was routed via the Main Line to Acton and as there are no different speeds set for loco hauled/freight trains, I left the throttle in full and was rather interested in how much speed I could get up to.

I got up to 120mph and took screenshots from 100mph to 120mph, which I've included. Train Sim World_20210301120400.jpg Train Sim World_20210301120609.jpg Train Sim World_20210301120717.jpg Train Sim World_20210301120822.jpg Train Sim World_20210301120959.jpg

There actually is different speed limits for freight. They are sign posted as 60mph, although the HUD ignores these.
All the freight wagons are rated to 60mph while the HKAs are 75mph when empty.

Yes that's right, that's what I was meaning. The HUD should know what type of train/loco you're driving and set the speed limits accordingly.

The HUD shows the max line speed in these cases, not the speed limit for specific locos you’re driving. It does the same with the 166 even though it’s only rated for 90mph.

In the end though you’re not penalized for speeding so long as you don’t exceed the line limit, so you can play it by the book or open ‘er up to your hearts content.

The Vmax for the Class 66 is 75 mph, full stop. Doesn't matter what the track limit is, over 75 is illegal.
