Being rebuilt Class 56 engines with a better motor, the trial for 69001 this was on the Severn Valley Railway prior to being painted with its Union Jack and American flag livery, nicknamed "Mayflower". 69002 is painted in BR Large Logo Blue. The other eight are presently unpainted. This might be a project worth keeping an eye on for a future consideration, as it's too soon at the moment to include except as a bonus loco in the special 69001 livery. Currently 16 locos in total, 10 for main use and six in reserve. The other two are only for spare parts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_69
There are only 3 locos in existence so far, 69001, 69002 and 69003 which is unpainted. From the wikipedia page. "The new engine is an EMD 12N-710G3B-T2 as fitted to Class 66 locomotives numbers 66752-66779. The original underframe, bogies, traction motors and brake system have been retained and overhauled." Might be best waiting for the fleet to be released as Armstrong Powerhouse might do an update for their Class 56 pack
Indeed, the fleet is still under production, so updating these engines somewhere would make sense. That said, AP could very well just do a 69 pack on its own and offer it for a discount to those owning the pack that uses the same infrastructure. We'll have to see. But would be neat to see something current in there once it's done. I figure this would be an option for a project a year down the road or so, or could even be underway now and being released once the IRL project is complete. We'll have to see.
If anyone's interested, that's my picture on the top of the Wikipedia article 69004 had a few pics shown on social media lately , please don't ask me to find them it's a long shot, but pics of it in the shed at longport being finished off. Probably won't be long until it's off to Eastleigh . I'd love a 56 and 69 in TSW, give me a few RHTT tanks too and you won't get me off ECW and BML lol
