Completed an ECS move to Dartford to begin the day. Changed ends, set up the cab, waited for service start- but when it was time to go, brakes refused to release (had power, just set brakes). A glance at the screen showed the "TSO" button illuminated; pressing it yields a "Train Stop Override In Effect" message, but no way to turn it off- after waiting about 30 seconds the message goes away, but that's it; the Brake Release button never shows.

Plainly I did something wrong with the cab changeover, but what? Any help here?

My technical knowledge is nil but I just checked the manual and the only noticeable difference from a normal change of ends is that you have to turn the GMSR off before changing ends? Hope this helps you :)

OK, but then that raises another question- whenever you push the GSMR on/off button (whatever its status) you always get the same response “confirm deregistration”, as if it is expecting a logout.

GSMR functionality is just terrible atm.

it doesn’t work like it’s supposed to, it’s just a few boxes that light up from what I can tell.

What happens when you press the confirm button ?

edit. Just checked the manual again and it says if registered shut down GSMR with confirm/ on-off button.

I can't get it to shut down at all. It just resets.

I know that other players have successfully changed ends in the 700. What are they doing that I'm not?

I am not sure on the 700s but basics are, was the brake in 100% (not emergency), reverser in neutral with master key out and all safety systems off. If you have done all that I don't have any more knowledge of the 700s sadly and can't think of anything else off the top of my head. Hope this is of some help.

Thanks, I know all that and it works fine with other UK trains. But the 700 is all computerized and "smart."

Haha yes, they are flash things. Reading back my post does seem a bit patronising but that wasn't the intent. I genuinely don't really know what else can be done. I have a day off tomorrow so I'll give the service a go to see if I can work it out. Do you have the headcode for the move?

Are you supposed to set the DRA in the cab that you left, by any chance?

I’ve just done 5P95 gillingham into the depot (sorry I didn’t have time to do your service) Stopped in the depot, tried turning GSMR off but kept confirming but couldn’t switch it off! So, I continued to close closed ( brake full, reverser neutral etc) and when I turned master key off GSMR shutdown.
I went to opposite end and started up cab as usual GSMR came on and I drove off no problem!
Could it be that your 9P93 has a bug ?

edit: ok, I couldn’t resist I had to try the route. 5P93 went well, no drama. Closed down as above changed ends and set GSMR which showed 9P93, had to wait for red light but then set off without any problems? Very weird. I didn’t set DRA when I shut down and it wasn’t on when I changed ends.

This should cover your problem. Try to isolate tpws and put it back to normal. Check DRA aswell. Both cabs!

I think the mystery for me is why would the TSO be active when he had just got in the cab?
