As we are aware of a possible East Coast Mainline route that could be coming to train sim world, I wanted to suggest the Class 800/1 and 800/2 for Train Sim World. The 800/1 is the 9 car variant of the Hitachi class 800, made for LNER, thr 800/1 is the bimode variant of the 80x family, which means it can use both diesel and electric power compared to the class 801s. The 800/1 is 9 cars long and is usually used for the Highland Chieftain and Northern Lights Express services. The 800/2 is a 5 car variant of the bimodal 800/1 used on services to Harrogate and Lincoln. The top speed of these trains on electric is 140mph and 110 on diesel, although the diesel engines have been clocked at 125mph. Possible Scenario this train could be used on: Due to heavy winds and bad weather there has been a diversion around the East Coast Mainline, drive this Aberdeen service as far north as Peterborough, but you will be diverted via the slow lines. [1hr 30mins]. Images of the train: 800/1 800/2
Something about this suggestion just seems off... might just be me going insane though. Chances are we will get this if there's an ECML route (but I hold no idea for it). Albeit given the flyingscotsmancantery pact that's actually the exact same as the TSC DELUXE EDITION. Could this potentially mean a modernised NTP, LIRR updated and Pengitzbahn and deluxe having a ECML with Flying Scotsman? Only time will tell. That was a rant about the leaks for no reason.
As I have said in a previous and also said by Ant Craft, the rise of the Hitachi family such as the Nova's, IET's, Azuma's etc it'll be wrong not to add them since they are taking quite a rise within the rail industry. But if we do get a ECML which I pray we do I hope the Azuma's are featured.
Yes they are lovely units and would be interesting to see them in TSW. It may, however make more sense to bring the 801s with an ECML route simply because we have more of them. There is no reason why we couldn't get both the 800s and 801s with an ECML route to properly cover all of the LNER services. Anyway I feel I have started to drone on so I will end by saying that this is a great suggestion mate.
Thank you, the reason why I suggested the 800 is so we have a bimode train in the game. And no better candidate than the 800 ofc
Any 800 will be good in the game I've always wanted a 800 because they are one of my favourite trains part from the pacer lol. But if it's a older ECML about in the steam era it will be disappointing.
