Hi everyone, is it just me or is this happening with anyone else. On the cornish mainline the iet sounds like it's in electric mode and the acceleration is like it's in electric. But when I put it into the GWR route its very sluggish

The Class 801 is primarily an electric train, the single diesel engine is only capable of getting the unit to a low speed and not very quickly at that. This is not an 800 or 802 which are dedicated bi-mode units; the ones GWR use. Using the 801 in diesel mode will naturally lead to severely reduced performance. If you are using off the rails mode, TSW will ignore the electrification of a route and instead go with whatever the train is set to - on West Cornwall Local the train is running in electric mode despite not being able to in real life.

Yes, DTG made the wrong choice by implementing the 801 rather than the LNER 800, as they knew very well people would want to use it on WCL and GWE as a GWR unit. Then again they picked the wrong ECML section to make as well, so I'm not surprised.

They were wanting the 800, but LNER only had an 801 available.

Cornish mainline was probably something rivet did when building the route most likely. It's not supposed to be able to actually run on there in free roam.

That isn't an excuse. They can look at photographs for any differences between the units (which isn't very much) and AP already have the diesel engines recorded.

    It’s really not that simple.

The 800s and 801s while similar in appearance are two totally different trains. It's harder than you may think.

Actually, they don't have the diesel engines recorded correctly.

*Due to not being able to record the diesel engine under power on depot, diesel sounds are not as detailed as usual when powering
