It appears it isn’t possible to keep the power controller in the “Run Up” position using RailDriver. You can place it into the ‘Run Up’ position but after a second it springs back. The ‘Run Up’ position is spring-loaded in real life of course, but using the power RailDriver lever there is no equivalent to holding the key down (as you do with a keyboard) to keep the controller in ‘Run Up’.

This means RailDriver can’t (sensibly) be used with the Class 87 (theoretically you could alternate continuously between ‘Hold’ and ‘Notch Up’ using the lever, but with so many taps to go through it would be ridiculous).

RailDriver does have spring-loaded buttons (the ‘Range’ and ‘E-Stop’ buttons) which are unallocated, so if the problem can’t be solved with the power lever, one of those buttons (preferably ‘Range’ as it’s easier to reach comfortably) could be allocated to the power controller instead to address the issue.

    Thank you.
