Clinch Field Sd40 Sound Problems And Lights Wont Switch On

has anybody had any problems with the sound when starting the sd40 on this ? it sounds for a second when priming the engine then the sound completely cuts out then it comes back on again lot later when the engines running I'm in the scenario where your switching hoppers and the lights wont switch on on the trailing EMD f7 at all

 

A trailing loco wouldn't have lights on

 

Only the end of an DPU would have it
