[SD40] 1. Clinchfield Coal: Part 1 - Tried to enable Dynamic Brake using , and . and also by using mouse. Seemed to not work on this scenario/loco. Is this a known issue?
Clinchfield is weird. The route is well crafted and looks better than TSW's in terms of vegetation, but the SD40 is a complete wreck with wrong scripts. Seems they tried to downgrade an existing SD40-2 to the SD40, but that failed. Can't even lap your brakes, sounds don't fit the notches. Loud as hell. Clearly the release deadline prevented this from being finished. Case for LocoSwap.
Lol - that would break the Career Scenario. I took your advice a long while ago and do not take completing Career scenarios as gospel. For me TSC is all about the journey and experiencing the 'work of art' created. I still cannot retrieve the career.xml back (it is now an off-line version) and even though I have tried to go off-line, I suspect the latest version of TSC does this automatically (places the remotecache.vdf in its place). For a long while I have just been keeping my own records on an Access database of my own. I realise that we are all human and that not every scenario released will be perfect. This is why I control my own destiny by not fretting over mistakes made by authors and keeping my own records. I use the Steam Achievement Manager 7.0 for marking off any Career scenarios of significance anyway! Thx for checking this out. I will now gladly Locoswap out this unit. Which Loco wouild you recommend as 'best in class' for the EMD SD40 to drive. Is there a US equivalent to the AP for UK locos? Kind Regards
There are SearchLight Simulation SD40-2 and RRMods GP40-2 engines. Too few options unfortunatly. And none with Clinchfield skin. Probably it is possible to make Searchlight Simulations EMD 16-645E3 Enhancement Pack to work with default Clinchfield SD40 to fix all those script and sound problems. But it won't be easy, as it is not directly supported.
