Apologies if this has already been asked (Google hasn't shown me any previous discussion of my question). My question is, is it OK to clone a route, delete like 80-90% of the route but use the remaining 10-20% as part of a wider route you are doing and ultimately publish on the Workshop (for free)? I'm doing a route that doesn't already exist apart from the bit between Clapham Junction and Waterloo and to be honest I don't want to go to all the hassle of creating that bit from scratch and was hoping that I could clone the PDL route and then delete everything south of Clapham Junction. I know I can do this for my own personal use, but was wondering it wouldn't be allowed if it was to go on the Workshop. EDIT: I didn't realise I've posted this in the 'General Discussion' section - if a mod could move it, that would be greatly appreciated!
Yes you can. An example is the Southeastern Network that uses part of London to Chatham and part South London Lines AFAIK The Workshop is the only place to download it https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2905241934
Just to add, it is important to understand that third party assets ( scenery, track etc. etc . ) are not allowed when publishing routes on the Workshop, only those available on Steam can be used.....when posting on the Workshop a check is made and if anything non-Steam is found you will receive a message accordingly and the upload will terminate.
