According to several posts on Facebook, it disappointingly appears that the project to create a new build Class 22 Baby Warship has been terminated. This is a shame, especially when you compare the project with the similar Baby Deltic Project which is making fantastic progress with a near complete locomotive at this stage. If you are someone that has donated parts or other significant material and funds, please read their Facebook posts to discuss the next steps or contact them within 6 months. Although a very long shot, perhaps the project can be resurrected at a later date if enough support can be found. Farewell Project 22.
No, but this is railway related news. I had previously suggested a collaboration with the project to create a Class 22 for TSW but this came to nought so far.
That is a shame to hear, hopefully it will be able to jump back. The Baby Deltic is still a work in progress isn't it? Must admit haven't checked on that one for a while.
Baby Deltic is coming along nicely, currently painted in grey primer at Barrow Hill. Unless a group comes in soon to continue, it is unlikely to restart. It is very difficult for groups like these to raise their profile enough to attract investors with enough money to make the difference. Hence my suggestion for a TSW collaboration effort.
I still don't understand. As I understand it so far, someone is trying to get a class 22 and Baby Deltic into the game, but... Ohhh. So this is a real life project to restore an original class 22 and Baby Deltic, which has unfortunately fallen through. If this understanding is correct, then it is very sad indeed, and I have some Googling to do
Ah, well that is good to hear. This is a shame though, as it would be quite a nice addition even if I wouldn't call myself a fan of them. Seems unlikely this will get back off the ground then as people with money will be invested in other projects or be under the rules set out by their mrs! Like I said at the time of your idea, it would have been nice if they could have done some sort of collaboration with TSW as that would have raised the profile and so funds.
