I know that it'd be a bit hard pressed for DTG to make an Aussie route, but if they do, it'd be amazing to see this line in train sim.

It'd be set in the present day, with a backdated option (set around 1995-2007) as a separate route (Hunter Line in the 2000s) with the section beyond hamilton to the original Newcastle station.

Here is a video of the Hunter line as it is today with a service for Dungog. The current terminus is nowhere near where the old station was, however the rest of the line is more or less the same.

The other line runs from Maitland to Scone, However, I can't seem to find a video that sees a train north of muswellbrook. But still, it's a decent run.

The trains used on this line are primarily Hunter DMUs (2 variants would be provided) which entered service in 2007.

The other good part is that the Hunter Line is famous for extremely long coal trains.
Here's a video of numerous coal trains operated by private operators. The locomotives and wagons used are virtually identical.
