Hi, everyone. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to spend two weeks in Berlin when I was an exchange student in Germany in high school back in 1992. I had the opportunity to ride the U-Bahn all over the, at the time, very recently reunified city. When I read the history of the division and the wall I learned about the Geisterbahnhöfe (ghost stations) that existed on several of the U-Bahn lines that ran over into East Berlin and I’ve been fascinated ever since. The entire U-Bahn system in Berlin is amazing with some brilliant architecture in the stations. It would be amazing if TSW would implement one of the lines as they were in the Cold War era, with closed stations and all, or perhaps just after reunification but before the Geisterbahnhöfe had received their facelifts. It’s such a fascinating time in history and I’ve always wanted to drive one of these trains. There are several good options, but maybe the U8? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/U8_(Berlin_U-Bahn)
Bring it on and also a Cold War era Riesa Dresden Dresden Chemnitz (GDR Reichsbahn Spelling is Karl Marx Stadt) Rapid Transit as a complete collection with Berlin U-Bahn as GDR edition TSW4
Yeah the Berlin U-Bahn has some interesting history in itself. I'd be looking forward to a route like this.
