There are loads of guides available, eg this one for Koln Aachen, which give you exact locations - Google is your friend! In many routes, they're quite a way off the stations which is, in equal measure, a) quite annoying how far you have to walk, but b) a nice way of seeing parts of the map details you'd never otherwise spot.
