After a few solid days of gaming I've taken some notes. Compliments 1. The game looks and runs beautifully on my xbox series x in 4k. No crashes or instability. I played an old route and new route back to back. The visuals are like night and day. The new skies are impressive. 2. I love the background sounds on the menu and sounds in general. I play with my headphones on and the sound loud. Listening to trains roll by with claps of thunder is absolutely stunning. I find myself stopping to simply enjoy it. 3. I'm enjoying the new UI and the Training Center. 4. I love the voiceover actors. The BNSF guy specifically. It almost sounds like you pulled him right out of the old west to record his bits. Suggestions 1. When doing the training for the new routes the explanation of things are longer and more detailed. These are good things as I've learned a bit from them. The problem is that in some instances the font of the subtitles is very small. They were small to me on a 70" TV. Check out the explanation of the different braking systems on the EC44. Perhaps they should be split into different subtitle boxes with larger fonts while he explains it. 2. When pausing the game TSW2 would default to the overview tab. In TSW3 it defaults to the message log tab. It would be more helpful if it continued to open the overview tab. This tab is very useful. It has my tonnage number of wagons plus future changes to grades and speeds. Lastly it has the key to open the map and another to save (when it gets restored). I'd love to see it open the overview tab when it pauses. 3. I'd love to be able to wrap around the menu tabs. For example pressing RB (on xbox) on message tab wraps around to the left menu rather than do nothing. Similarly LB on the left menu wrap around to message log. Issues 1 - It's impossible to get gold on the EC44 introduction. Either to goals are too high or you're not getting AP when you shoukld in the training. 2. I was doing the refueling training on SOS and stumbled accross a coal bag to fill. I filled it but got myself caught in the circle of bags and couldn't get out. This was right by the water tower. when walking back from throwing the points. I had to abort the training and start over. So far it's a great game.
it seems like the sd40 training module in the training center is impossible to get better than bronze. Interestingly the two are nearly identical modules (if not exact) except for the different loco yet my score on the sd40 was 300 ish points higher. I got a bunch of points right at the end. The gold medal though was also much higher.
Looks like I didn’t wait long enough. In the scenarios it does open to the overview by default. Excellent
