Dear Team I think that the Train Sim World series is highly fascinating and it gives me huge thrill riding in the trains. In fact I have been dreaming of riding trains virtually since 2020 (I mean riding as a passenger instead of driving the trains). According to me for any train enthusiast who loves as his hobby riding trains, this one is a must to everyone although this is not VR. I highly recommend that you don't discontinue this game and please kindly keep working at launching new editions like this just like how you have done launched rush hour and new DLCs. My other suggestion is that you add immersive VR support since it will increase the fun of being in the scene and players will feel like that they are out from their homes. Keep up all the excellent work you have done and keep working at launching more games with these features of passenger mode in the simulator series. Thanks alot Anuraj
Welcome to the Forum. You remind me of my first reaction when I first played TSW..... it is fabulous, isn't it....? ;-) I agree - I'd love to have VR in TSW, especially since "much of your time will be spent in the driver's seat".... as they say in the game itself... For now I make do with a PSVR headset for an undistracted cinema view.... or a 55" TV if I am having some bacon and eggs, which I imagine has been served from the hotplate inside the cab of the Class 20.
I have to say, despite its flaws, the TSW Games are fantastic upgrades from TS---- I think VR would really add to the game, and it would be wonderful to have. I think people can be over-critical of Dovetail a lot of the time, and posts like these are things we need to see more of.
I love this game over Train Simulator. I have not played Train Simulator though but I have seen that in that game even though you are sitting on passenger seat, you still need to drive the train. Whereas in Train Sim World, you can sit on the passenger seat with having to take control of the train and you can move around. That's what I find highly fascinating about Train Sim World.
I had a similar response to getting hold of TSW for the first time. Previously I had Trainz on my Macbook and within days of getting TSW, that was consigned to the trash and securely deleted. I could have cooked bacon and eggs on the Macbook it got so hot when Trainz was running. That wasn’t the main reason for deleting it though, it was that I’d found something more like what I really wanted to be doing. I haven’t looked back since. And fear not, there won’t be any plans to discontinue TSW, just plans to improve it and release more content.
As I saw the title of the thread, I was sure this was another cheap provocation. I was rubbing my hands. And here, such a surprise. Nice to see someone happy. Bravo, You EDIT About VR: Rush Hour will bring us a TrackIR implementation.
When TSW Heavy Haul was first announced, I was busy playing TS2017(?). I didn't see how it could be improved or replaced. And I had hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars invested in that game. But once I started playing the old Sand Patch version, I knew the answer. I still have TS, even MSTS on my computer, but I only play TSW2. Thank goodness we had TSW2 to help get us through the long "winter of our discontent" (or lockdown, as we called it).
Frogs rained down on me. Not rain. Such miracles. I went abroad to save the situation. I was working without access to gaming equipment. Certain unpleasant circumstances forced me to return to Poland. I have already seen it in the beautiful Netherlands, TSW 2 had its premiere. I guess I was sad but I bought it even though I had thousands of hours of train sims on my account and didn't expect salvation. You're right, Crosstie, no passion, no hobbies, it would be tough \o/
Funny to see how you enjoy it when you have played for the first time. The first time i do, i was like : "WHAT IS THIS GAME ?! MY TRAIN DON'T MOVE AGAIN !! THAT SUCKS ! " Now i enjoy it too because i learned how to play it with Discord servers and DTG Forums. It isn't a problem anymore to drive a 1972 Tube Stock. ( Yes, i wasn't able to move with that lil' train before )
We need even more of these editions. This is the lifeline of all simulators. We need Train Sim World 2022 announced in around November-December. I think this is the best train sim game I have even played. One thing that I highly love about this game is the passenger mode. You can walk around and sit on the passenger seat without the need for yourself to drive the train. I really want there to be more games like this. Due to this COVID 19 pandemic, I can't go out in any trains around the world so this is my only chance to ride in trains at this time until everything opens up. I want Dovetail Games to continue with the Train Sim World edition since there is no other game like this which has passenger mode like this one. I have played derail valley another train driving game and you can sit in the passenger coaches but you still need to take control of the train engine. TramSim another simulator that I know has passenger view but the AI can't drive the tram. This is the only game where the AI can drive the train while I am sitting on the passenger seat.
TSW2 is the first train game I’ve ever played so I’m unable to compare it with other train sims/games. I’m enjoying it immensely though and it’s kept my attention for more than a few weeks so it must be doing something right. DLC are expensive at full price but I guess that’s to cover the cost of development but I do have to wait for sales due to other hobbies and interests that demand my time and cash. I found it hard to get the hang of it all at the beginning but now I’m more familiar with how it all works and with the help of people on here I’m enjoying it even more.
I agree 100% and enthusiastically to what you say. In fact ever since last year, I have been dreaming of travelling around the world in VR and immersive experience. I knew it would be difficult for me to create an app that would enable to me to virtually ride transportation and finally I discovered this game and I saw you can ride like a passenger. I was excited to check this and I could imagine that God made my wish of riding in trains (not driving) as a passenger virtually in real time. I have known this game since February and it has been 4 months since I have experienced this.
