As the thread title says, I'm randomly but consistently getting Unreal Engine crashes saying "Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost". I've updated Nvidia drivers, downgraded drivers but nothing seems to fix it. All other games run perfectly fine on my machine. Anyone else ran into this issue?

It sounds like it might be an unstable overclock/undervolt. Check your clockspeeds and voltages.

    Cheers

Stock clocks and voltages on all of my stuff but my RAM, which hasn't been an issue for anything else in over a year.

Yes, I am on W11,21H2, Build 22000.556, on an ASUS ROG Zephyrus, 16G RAM, nVidia GeForce 2080, 8 GB RAM, driver v 511.79

Never had issues before, but seeing this. Steam files validate OK

Will see if lower clock speeds help.

the error could be caused by several things

    just google the error
most common cause is I think the antivirus program

I've never seen this error. When I get issues with a game, I try to stress test the setup outside of the game. I generally use FurMark https://geeks3d.com/furmark/ and this one is good https://www.userbenchmark.com/ at spotting and diagnosing some sorts of configuration issues (note you need to download an exe at your own risk). You could also try blender benchmark it certainly makes my machine work for its money https://opendata.blender.org/ - you download an exe and it has a 750mb download it does on start up so be aware of that.

You don't get any interaction with blender until the end

So turning down my clock speed (and screen size %) did seem to help. I haven't seen the crash, (Playing Powering America 2 scenario on Sand Patch grade for an hour or so). I am going to see if I can get it to occur again.

    Here is my $0.02
I have not experienced that error in TrainSim World. I definitely have experienced it in Flight Simulator (FSX)
I run both the FlightSim and the TrainSim under Steam. I don't mess with clocks or voltages and have no modifications.
Oh, and by the way - enjoy Powering America part 2. One of my favorites.
