    Hi All,

I wonder if anyone had the following issue: whenever I buy something off of Steam, the launcher starts verifying my game files, wiping out all my Armstrong Powerhouse/SSS enhancement packs etc. It's a bit painful to reinstall them every single time. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I have to add that my Asset folder is above 280GB, so that's why Steam might get confused. I haven't unpacked and deleted any AP files, which would explain why it thinks something is missing. Is there a way around this? I can backup my Asset folder as a RAR, and extract everything into the main RailWorks folder, overwriting everything after Steam installs new content, but I'm not sure that would help. I just literally don't want to reinstall third-party content every single time.

    Many thanks!

When you delete the *.ap files then Steam thinks your system has a problem and reinstalls them.
If you need to extract them for loco repaints etc only extract those you need.

I never delete AP files but yesterday I got a verification anyway. Bye bye AP sound packs!

Hasn't AP stopped overwriting the original files for exactly this reason?

I've tested multiple packs stored in AP files; all of them have been restored to default. Every AP sound pack (and presumably other modifications to content I'm not even aware of) has been deleted. Now I have to spent two or so hours reinstalling everything and hoping it doesn't happen again, which it inevitably will.

If only mods could be like TSW, where it's in separate files that aren't affected by base game shenanigans.

They can be, and again IIRC AP have moved to doing that with newer content.
