Here is an idea... How about a main route in different parts of the world that is constantly being updated and changed. On the route maybe changes to timetables if required, scenery being changed, that building site isn't going to stay a building site forever, tweeks around the platforms, changing posters, graphical improvements learnt on other lines, change to rolling stock. It is not the shiney and new thing, but keeping one main route up todate, one in the UK, Germany, US etc. What does everybody think?
Might be difficult to keep it constantly up to date. By the time some changes get implemented in game, it might already be out of date. Or if it's something big like a timetable change, it could change many times irl and if timetables take months to create, it would already be out of date
Ok, maybe carry out like a 6 months review where DTG or whoever do it on their route. I mean we pay for a new game every year to get the same version of routes and yes we didn't pay last year, but. I don't know how hard it is to unpack and repack, but I guess the creator would keep an original version in an unpacked or unbaked state surely, so no unpacking required? Even a yearly update, something?
Nope. Not wanted and completely untenable anyway. DTG don’t even fix all the glaring bugs in routes so they are not going to have a rolling system of patches to do minor changes to scenery, and any major changes would require payment as DTG generally do not work for free. Those changes may not even be wanted, especially if things players like are removed, such as a train they like being replaced with a soulless EMU because that’s what happened on the real route. Some players kept wanting that for GWE and Peninsula Corridor, wanting the routes updated to take away the interesting trains and replace them with dull EMUs, but many players like the old diesel trains. There’s really no point in doing minor changes and big changes require payment and may not be universally welcomed. As I say, untenable.
I quite like the backdated routes on TSC. I wouldn't mind something like this for tsw. But I feel the likelihood of this is next to none.
