    Hello all,

I wasn’t sure where to ask this and didn’t wanna interject in any other thread so I figured I’d ask here. I’m looking into playing TSW4 on PC using a controller but the controller I have now is over a decade old and doesn’t have any sort of haptic support whatsoever. I know there is controller haptic support now on console (not sure if it’s both PS5 or XBox or one or the other) but I wanted to ask if hapics are supported via PC, and if so, what controllers would you recommend? I know some PS5 controllers can be connected to the PC via USB but wasn’t sure if the haptics would work for TSW4. Hopefully someone that knows a little more than me can provide some guidance/suggestions. Much appreciated. :)

    cheers!

Haptics is just fancy rumble. Compare it to the vibration on your phone, it's based on similar technology. TSW4 on PC does not support haptics but does support rumble.

I own the game on PS5 and can't speak to the experience on PC but on PS5 it can be set to very subtle vibrations, which I like more than the heavy handed rumble found on traditional controllers. If all you care about is rumble working, it works on PC with any Windows compatible controller that supports it. Only a small selection of PC titles currently support haptics, but many more will support rumble.

Even Train Sim Classic supports rumble via my Dualsense connected through USB and I find the experience using that controller more comfortable than my Xbox 360 controller on the same game. Your experience may vary.

FYI, Dualsense(PS5) controllers work fine on PC, as well as Xbox ones.

    Thanks!

I wanted to ask cause i remember when TSW4 was first announced they went on about being able to hear the alerter beep and also signal aspect colors being represented via the controller. I wonder if all of those features also carry over for PC on a PS5 controller.

Sorry to rain your parade. Controller haptics are an exciting thing ....................... if they're implemented with competence. And that's wherein the problem lies.

DTG didn't understand a thing about it. They implemented the digital approach: 0 or 1. BUZZ, no BUZZ. Touch the brakes.. BUZZ!.. touch the throttle.. BUZZ!.. Go over track joints.. BUZZ!.. turn on the lights.. BUZZ! There goes your immersion.

If you're into those masochistic electric shock games, you may find pleasure. Otherwise just leave it disabled. As I had to decide.
Compared to other PS5 games, it ain't worth the trouble to have it emulated to your PC.

    Just 2cc from a PS5 player.
