When controlling the Amtrak engine, you have the break controls on the L buttons and the speed control on the R buttons, complete opposite sides from where they are in the cab. Should be speed on the L buttons and break on the R buttons.
I'm afraid this is just how the controls are mapped. In some locomotives it's that way around, in other's it's not. We don't see the logic in adding complications by changing the control layout every time you change locomotives...
