I remember seeing a post here that detailed how to edit the cab camera position in a loco, but on a quick search, couldn't find it. Could someone help me?

And another one, some DLC locos I've bought have a distractingly obvious windscreen, resulting in a very grey view out. Is it possible to fix this, and how?

Give us a clue of which loco camera you wish to change and which windows are not clear enough

What's with the attitude? I'm asking in general how would one go about it. But, at least the U30B from the original Feather River route could use adjusting the camera position IMO. There are a couple of locomotives like the GP20 and FP7 (both Western Pacific) that have way too greyed-out windscreens.

Because people say they don't like something without giving more information about the problem
You might have asked a question about something somebody else has and could have looked at.

Have a read of this and somebody on RWA might know the answer.

Locate the cab cam blueprint in the asset folder.

Generally it's found in "RailVehicles\Type\Name\Livery\CabView\cabcam.bin". (Note that paths can be freely chosen by the dev)

Edit it with TSTools or use Serz.exe to convert from .bin to .xml and back.

X is left right (in metres)
    Y is down/up
    Z is backward/forward position.

For cleaning windows, you must find the according texture. They are in the Cab\textures folder mostly (but not mandatory)
Extract the DDS files using RSBinTool and use a graphics processor (like paint.net) that can handle alpha layers. Reduce the opacity of the alpha layer and reimport to RSBinTool and resave the TgPcDx.

Put all files in a corresponding path next to the .ap file, so they override the original.

    Example: FR U30B windows:

The blacker the texture in the Alpha Channel, the more transparent it will be.

I'm using paint.net and BoltBait's plugins, which lets you easily adjust the alpha transparency. Fixing a window takes a couple of seconds.

Put the modded file in a folder structure that matches the structure inside the .ap, and TSC will use your modded file then.

I like the pun and they say Germans have no sense of humour (not true in my experience, different , yes).

My thanks as well for the explanation.

    Nice you got it :D

I think a renowned italian content creator made a tool (never used it as I just like doing stuff manually though)....

Edit: Found it, by Claudio Mussa. He also made the Route Merging tool.
