The fact that the colors are actually much lighter in the game than they appear in the livery designer really, really bugs me. Every time I put down a new color, I have to leave the livery designer, and spawn it in a timetable service to see if I got the color right. If not, then I have to go back into the livery designer, and repeat the process until I get the proper color.
I’ve noticed the “choppy” textures too on a loco which when testing the livery out, the service subsequently crashed the game . I really want to create good livery’s but when it crashes on me, nah. Pointless.
The quality is a joke I stopped doing anything with the livery editor until they fix these low quality textures. Here’s a comparison between the livery editor and the same train on a session on the PS4 pro:
There is some tips to bypassing in part the lack of quality. 1- you can manage Projection tool params , 2- you can use multiple shapes of the same type: eg you looking for a more defined B char? Use 2 or 3 B chars, like a sort of double or triple layer! Edit: After some test on Class 72 Stock I noticed that the final result is based on the colours we try to mixed. For example with red-over-black the result quality looks better than on red-over-white. We can bypass this creating a border around the characters or maybe by working on the characters dimension. (about the Class 72 Stock there are 2 screens, the 1st normal, the 2nd with the double layer: "london x 2")
Looks ok from a distance but the blurring is bad when up close. I'm done with the livery editor until we get more updates for it. That and Scenario Planner to be honest. Both are incomplete and shouldn't have been released at launch imo, they don't make or break the game so just hold off until it's "done".
Off course, Im sure DTG will open the tap when the new consoles comes. Anyway, at the moment, also the original liveries logos (from a close camera) are not too brilliants Original CSX Customized NS
I wouldn't expect any changes when the new consoles come. They'll be working to the lowest common denominator for some time yet...
Sad but true, we may see some slight improvements but nothing which will take DTG much time or effort.
Thanks 7orenz but on some textures shape there’s still some blurring effect so imagine on some complex one having to put the same over 5 or six time it’s impossible I’m waiting for DTG ( we can wait years ) to fix that and the constant crashing. The amount of bugs and crashing shows that DTG doesn’t test at least correctly on consoles and are becoming incompetent and doesn’t care about the customers
Sorry for my stupidity but can you elaborate a bit more? What do you mean by border around the character? I have a livery which could really benefit that...
