Hi, my name is Robert, more commonly seen around on the internet as KTL_RobPowell. I've been working for DTG for around 18 months now and about 7-8 months on the TSW Gameplay team. Following on from Matt's excellent guide on getting started with making a scenario I would create a series of videos documenting creating a basic scenario. The playlist is still raw at the moment with proper chapters needing to be added to the longer videos and the correct links in some descriptions but hopefully budding designers out there will find this useful. I make reference to the fact that in the near future there will be various further tutorials detailing more advanced aspects of scenario authoring in the Public editor. I apologize in advance if anybody has trouble understanding what I am saying. Any thoughts or comments please leave them below. Thanks in advance, Rob Powell. TUTORIAL PLAYLIST LINK
dtg_jan would it be possible to get this pinned? Or maybe a sub-forum for Tutorials where threads like this get moved into? Dunno if it's possible to create a forum where we can't create new posts in, but we can at least reply once they're moved in by an admin? Just thinking how we can ensure Tutorial threads don't get lost (mine and this one already kinda has) without there being a bazillion pinned posts.
Good morning, that's a very good idea. I think what I'll do is create a master thread with links to all tutorial threads and other helpful links that have been created so far and pin that thread. That way we can update it over time. I'll do that over the course of the day, if I end up missing something by tomorrow, please tag me in that thread and I'll add it. All the best, Jan
KTL_Rob Powell this is a fantastic tutorial, I would have been lost without this! However, I'm a bit confused about what goes in the notepad as you mentioned what is correct for you, but not exactly what it is you're locating. I'm assuming you're linking the timetable from the editor, so in my notepad I have: "F:\Games\Epic Games\TrainSimWorld4MOD\TS2Prototype\Binaries\Win64\TrainSimWorldPublicEditor.exe" TS2 Prototype -run=SimulateTimetable Timetable=\MF_BML_Scenarios\Content\Scenarios\Scenario_01\Scenario_01_Timetable However, it crashes straight away and gives me the message 'Failed to open descriptor file F:/Games/Epic Games/TrainSimWorld4Mod/TS2/Ts2/uproject I'd be massively grateful for any assistance you can offer me on this!
Try this, "F:\Games\Epic Games\TrainSimWorld4MOD\TS2Prototype\Binaries\Win64\TrainSimWorldPublicEditor.exe" TS2 Prototype -run=SimulateTimetable Timetable=/MF_BML_Scenarios/Scenarios/Scenario_01/Scenario_01_Timetable
Can you show us your Timetable defaults in your timetable, please? I might be able to diagnose it when off work later. I'll also post exactly what my command line looks like when I return to my personal computer after work.
