I have issues with creating very long straight parts in my route.
I need to build a 10km straight track.
I try to build individual parts of 1km length.

I need to rotate the ribbon to get a perfect straight part, but even without snapping i am not able to rotate it by very small angles.

How can i build long straight parts?

If you select the proxy, you can manually enter the rotation Z value in the right panel.

This doesn't work for very small values below 0.01 or so.
But for 10 km stretches, I don't know if it's even possible to do it that accurately.
You might need to calculate the the value manually because just testing it by trying very small values, it will probably not respond.

Another solution would be using a track curve with a very high radius and then appending a straight track. Use Ctrl + scroll wheel to adjust the angle.

Ok thank you. Do you know how to connect two straight parts? I cutted a few meters out of a straight track and only curves do snap for me.

I think you can't honestly, but would love to be shown otherwise.

I think that's impossible as that would result in corners in the track.

EDIT: I misunderstood the question. I don't know.

Yes, this is exactly something which annoys me much as well.

The rotate tool does not work precise enough to deal with longer straight tracks. Usually, in other software you could use a modifier key (like Alt or Shift) or shortcut to precise the rotation value in 0.01 steps.

But also if you tweak the values in the Transform section of the Details panel, you can't really get long straights which fit exactly to fit to the real world track with it, because "you can't see the end with it" / aka where you placing the tracks to on a long distance.

I'm usually ending up with "take the closest angle value which fits the real tracks and make a straight then adding and adding straight pieces to it". Usually this ends up that on the other end of your track having an offset inprecision let's call it "Schwund-Winkel" [engl. loss angle] - (and this the more, the longer the straight track is/or iow should be).

Otherwise there is only the alternative that you kind of do straights whereever possible and then have to use a little curve to connect them. It's really bad, but this is also the way how I ended up with dealing with straights longer than 700 or 800 meter.

Yeah, the only solution to that could make DTG in which they implement a feature for the lay track tool to connect two points doesn't matter how the long the distance in between is (just like you can do with the spline tool in landscape mode).

    As a side note:
The Editor crashes when I place tracks of more than 100 meter length for sure. There also seems to be a relation of the lenght of laying tracks to the probabilty to crashes anyway. I usually only do pieces of 40 or 50 maximum to not crash.

I seem to remember Lucas mentioning that adding a track tool feature for this is on the to-do list for a future editor release. Basically the tool would place a straight track between two clicked points of any distance. It would be a great feature, hopefully coming in an editor update soon.
